Negli ultimi anni a fronte di cambiamenti del clima senza precedenti, sono state proposte alcune soluzioni rischiose per porre fine alla catena dei disastri climatici, o almeno per tentare di rallentarne la sua corsa. Questi metodi, raggruppati sotto il titolo di geo-ingegneria del clima, mirano a ridurre l'impatto dei gas serra sulle temperature globali.

Finitezza delle risorse di energia fossile, incidenti e disastri nucleari, impatto sulla salute, cambiamenti climatici. Fortunatamente una soluzione esiste, le energie rinnovabili. Anche se indubbiamente una completa conversione a queste fonti energetiche richiederà un considerevole sforzo politico, sociale, tecnologico ed una grande inventività.

Misura del Riscaldamento Globale

Sono disponibili numerose basi dati di misure delle temperature terrestri, ragionevolmente complete, e fin dalla seconda metà del XIX secolo. Il Met Office Hadley Centre in collaboratione con il Climatic Research Unit dalla University of East Anglia ha rilasciato a metà dicembre 2020 una nuova versione della base dati HadCRUT, che copre l'intero globo terrestre e contiene i dati mensili medi di ogni cella di controllo. In questo post visualizziamo questo dataset e calcoliamo una stima del riscaldamento globale attuale.

My new website is born

Well. Finally got around to putting this website together. Powered by Jekyll, the Liquid template language, it supports HTML and markdown syntaxes in the posts. The layout is enriched by the usage of Bootstrap 4, Font Awesome, Google Fonts, and a few other optional JavaScript engines.
